Featured dishes include Chilaquiles with Tesajo, a traditional Oaxacan-style dried meat; Frenchican Toast, French toast with a Mexican twist; Breakfast Sopes, eggs benedict with a sopes-style thick corn tortilla bottom; and Guacamole Avocado Toast. Round out the festivities with tequila pairing samples, cocktail specials and the debut of brunch cocktails such as the Bloody Mayahuel.

On Wednesday May 15th, we are thrilled to host Chef Ismene Venegas for a Chef’s collaboration at Tahona Bar & Mezcaleria.
Chef Ismene runs the outdoor kitchen of the fantastic El Pinar de 3 Mujeres restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe. She has trained with some of the best chefs in Mexico and she recently co-authored a book on the Edible Native Plants of Baja California (https://issuu.com/culinarytijuana/docs/plantas_nativas_comestibles_issuu).
She will prepare several dishes using native edible plants from Baja California and you will get to learn firsthand about her passion for using local flora in her cooking.

Join us as we host Master Distiller Eduardo Orendain from Arrette Tequila.
Eduardo will lead us into learning more about the history of Arrette, walking us through each of his expressions, how it is made and the flavor profiles of each.
We will also be doing a happy hour from 5pm-7pm with their wonderful blanco expression to showcase how great it can be in cocktails as well.

Mezcal tasting presentation from Andrea Ptanick, the owner of Cielo Blue consultants and importer of Animas mezcal.
Andrea will guide us through the story behind Animas mezcal and the different expressions they created and what connect her with mezcal in the first place.
This event is free to attend and it will include a sampling of Animas amazing mezcals.

Join us as we host Nuestra Soledad Mezcal. Since 1840, six generations of the Cortes family have been making mezcal.
At Tahona Mezcal Talks, we host Nuestra Soledad mezcal. Made by six generations of the Cortes family whose roots in Oaxaca go all the way back to 1840.
We will learn more about their cultivated line of espadins from different villages around Oaxaca.
It is through tasting each that we will learn more about the terrior and how each creates its own distinct flavors and aromas.
There will be a happy hour cocktail special from 5-7 PM showcasing Agave de Cortes mezcal.
